The ingredients needed to make Beginner's Sangria:
  1. Prepare 2 c Red Wine, low tannin preferred
  2. Make ready 2 c (or to taste) sweetened Orange Juice

  4. Get 4 Tbsp (or to taste) of syrup from the can
  5. Take Few slices of oranges (optional)
  6. Prepare Few slices of apples (optional)

  1. The original Sangria calls for more cups of Red Wine than OJ. It also involves adding Brandy… Thus my reason for calling this a Beginner's Sangria LOL
  2. On Red Wine: less tannic is preferred for Sangrias but I used a Cab Sauv for NY's and it was okay with equal portions. But for beginner drinkers I would recommend a Pinot, Grenache, etc.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a carafe.
  4. Important : Chill and leave in the fridge overnight. You'll notice the difference.
